GST registration: build the right document pack
The correct GST pack depends on business constitution, stakeholders, authorised signatory and whether the principal place is owned, rented, leased or used with consent.
Current position: The GST portal and official registration checklist are the current sources. File types and limits should still be confirmed in the upload slot before submission.
Choose the business facts first
Do not start by merging every business paper. First identify the constitution, principal place arrangement, stakeholders and authorised signatory, because these choices determine the required evidence.
- Proprietorship, partnership, company or other constitution
- Owned, rented, leased or consent premises
- Primary authorised signatory
- Applicable promoter, partner or director records
Core upload groups
The official checklist groups uploads around people, constitution, authority and place of business.
- Stakeholder or signatory photograph: JPG, up to 100 KB
- Constitution proof: JPG or PDF, commonly up to 1 MB
- Authorisation: the applicable letter or board resolution
- Principal-place proof: the evidence matching the occupancy arrangement
Create a clean submission pack
Scan every required page clearly and keep separate originals. Merge pages only for a slot that accepts one PDF, and check that no page becomes unreadable after compression.
- Name files by document and person.
- Preview each upload in its destination slot.
- Save the ARN and submitted application after filing.
