SSC CGL 2026: current stage, photo and signature guide

The application and correction windows have closed. Use this guide to prepare for the current stage and avoid carrying older photo-upload advice into the 2026 workflow.

Current position: As checked on 11 August 2026, the application window, brief reopening and correction window have closed. Follow SSC's current notices for Tier I updates rather than trying to start a new application.

Where the 2026 cycle stands

SSC's detailed notice opened the CGL 2026 application cycle in May. A later notice briefly reopened applications from 23 to 25 June and set a correction window from 1 to 3 July. Those dates are now past.

  • Use the SSC home page for examination-stage notices and regional updates.
  • Do not pay or upload files through an unofficial recruitment page.

Photo and signature flow

The final photograph is captured in the SSC application workflow. A prepared passport-photo file is not a substitute when the portal asks for live capture.

  • Use a clear camera, even light and a plain background for the live-photo step.
  • Prepare the signature at approximately 6 × 2 cm and 10–20 KB in JPG or JPEG for the 2026 notice.
  • Preview the correct file in the signature slot before final submission.

Keep these records together

Keep the submitted application, fee confirmation and the certificates supporting every eligibility or reservation claim. The application data should agree with the matriculation certificate.

  • Valid photo identity document
  • Matriculation and qualification certificates
  • Category, EWS, PwBD, ESM or equivalence evidence when applicable
